    In the central part, within the inner field, is the coat of arms of the Finnish region of Ostrobothnia. It consists of a crowned heraldic shield bearing six ermines passant to the left in three rows. To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' - the artist's mark of Nora Tapper - and a heraldic lion within a circle - the mintmark of the Mint of Finland. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2015'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).

    In the center, against the field, is an ermine depicted standing upright on its hind legs, with a rural building to the left. Along the upper edge arc of the coin, the country name 'Finland' is repeated twice: first in Finnish 'SUOMI', followed by Swedish 'FINLAND'. To the right near the rim is the artist's mark of Erkki Vainio - the Latin letter 'e'.
