    At the top, a three-line inscription in Ottoman Turkish: 'ضرب في مصر' - 'STRUCK IN EGYPT'. At the bottom: 'one twentieth of a qirsh' - 'نصف من عشر القرش'. Below that, the year of Mehmed V's accession according to the Islamic calendar: '١٣٢٧' - 1327 AH or 1909 AD.
  • Obverse
    In the center - the tughra of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II. To its right is a depiction of a rose flower. At the bottom, in two lines, the 3rd regnal year of the sultan in Ottoman Turkish: '٣سنه'.
