    In the central part is the monogram of King Ferdinand VII of Spain. Above it is a crown, to the left the mint mark for Mexico City, to the right the number '1/8' - 1/8 pilon (1/16 real). Along the left and right edge is the text: 'FERDIN.VII.D.G.HISP.REX.', which translates from Latin as 'Ferdinand VII by the Grace of God King of Spain'. In the lower part, following the curve of the coin's edge and separated by dots, is the year of mintage 1815.
