The central part of the coin features a double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both heads bear crowns, with a larger third crown between them. The eagle's wings are raised and its feathers are spread. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. The state emblem is surrounded by the circular inscription '• MONETA • NOVAIA • TSENA • ROUBL' • ҂AѰK •', where the letters '҂AѰK' indicate the year of minting: 1720. The rim resembles a twisted cable, with traditional denticles set at an angle.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by a right-facing profile portrait of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. In the sleeve truncation are the letters 'OK', the initials of the medallist Osip Kalashnikov. A circular inscription runs along the edge: 'TSR' • PETR' • ALEKSIEVICH • VSELA • ROSII • SAMODERZHETS' • The rim appears as a braided rope.
