    In the central part, a young man is seen from the front, entering the 'Free World'. To his right is a wall with barbed wire. On the left are symbols of countries involved in the Cold War: Charles Bridge in Prague, the Vienna Ferris Wheel, the Chain Bridge in Budapest, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Statue of Liberty in New York, and the circle of twelve stars of the European Union. Below and to the right along the rim is the German inscription '25 JAHRE FALL DES EISERNEN VORHANG' (25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Iron Curtain).
