In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, the text in Ukrainian: 'ASKANIYA-NOVA', the name of the reserve. Below, along the rim, an inscription in Ukrainian: '100 ROKIV', meaning '100 Years'.

In the central part, against a background collage of various plants, a butterfly, two birds, and a fawn, the Coat of Arms of Ukraine is depicted. Above it is the year of mintage, 1998. Below the coat of arms, a two-line inscription: '2 HRYVNI' - 2 Hryvnias. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, the name of the country in Ukrainian: 'UKRAINA'.
