    In the central part, 'XX' - the Roman numeral 20, the digits separated by a flower image. The letter 'R' is placed on all four sides of it, all framed by an ornate vignette. Around the edge, a Latin inscription: 'MODERATO SPLENDEAT. VSV', translated as 'Moderation illuminates', and the mint year 1695, separated by two four-petaled flowers. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.

    In the central part, the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Portugal. To the right, bottom, and left along the edge, a Latin text: 'PETRVS II D G PORTVG R D ÆTHIOP', the title of King Peter II of Portugal. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
