In the central part, three students and the gamekeeper of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are depicted from left to right: Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Rubeus Hagrid, Harry Potter. In front of them on a table is a dragon hatched from an egg. To the right, below Ron's image, are the Latin letters 'PM' and the English text 'HARRY POTTER'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top 'HARRY POTTER', at the bottom in two lines '1 CROWN'.
Obverse
In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley - 'IRB'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of minting '2001'. At the beginning of each inscription is the heraldic symbol of the Isle of Man – a triskelion. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
