The inscriptions are separated by rosettes. In the central part of the reverse, a relief image of a goldweight separates the inscription '1F.', denoting 'one franc'. A goldweight is a small figure in the shape of a human, animal, or bird, used by the Ashanti people for weighing gold dust.
