    In the central part, among lavender stems and butterflies, a flower fairy is depicted facing right, standing on grass and holding a flower stem with both hands. The fairy is dressed in a costume made of flower petals. To the right of the image are horizontal inscriptions in English: at the top a two-line inscription - '1 CROWN', at the bottom the plant name 'LAVANDER'.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1998'. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
