In the central part, within the inner field, is the coat of arms of the Finnish region of Lapland. It features a crowned heraldic shield, with a man depicted in the center, his left hand on his hip, holding a club on his shoulders with his right hand. To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' - the mark of designer Nora Tapper, and a heraldic lion in a circle - the mintmark of the Finnish Mint. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2015'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).
Obverse
In the center, against a backdrop of a river valley, a reindeer is depicted facing left. In the upper part, along the edge arc of the coin, the country name 'Finland' is repeated twice: first in Finnish 'SUOMI', followed by in Swedish 'FINLAND'. At the bottom near the rim is the designer's mark of Erkki Vainio – the Latin letter 'e'.
