    In the upper part, along the rim of the coin, the text "HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II". Below, in two lines - "ROYAL JUBILEE 1977". In the central part of the reverse is a relief design: a right-facing profile portrait of British Queen Elizabeth II, below islands with palm trees and a thatched hut, to the right above the island a cruise liner.

    In the central part is depicted the coat of arms of the state of Western Samoa: against a background of radial patterns, a heraldic shield with a stylized image of the "Southern Cross" constellation, sea waves, and a coconut palm. Above the shield is a cross, on the sides are olive branches. In the lower part of the coat of arms is the motto "God is the foundation of Samoa" (Samoan: FA’AVAE I LE ATUA SAMOA). In the upper part, along the rim of the coin, the name of the state "Western Samoa" in the Samoan language "SAMOA I SISIFO", below one tala – "$ 1".
