In the central part, within the inner field, is the coat of arms of the Finnish region of Åland. It features a crowned heraldic shield with a stag facing left. To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' - the artist's mark for Nora Tapper, and a heraldic lion within a circle - the mintmark of the Finnish Mint. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2011'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).

In the center is a fishing net, with a netting shuttle below it. Along the rim is the country name 'Finland', on the left in Finnish 'SUOMI', on the right in Swedish 'FINLAND'.
