    In the central part is a hole, surrounded by a six-pointed Star of David. Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right is the colony's name in English: BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Below is the year of issue, 1927. The coin's rim features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the British Imperial Crown, with the Latin inscription to the left and right: "GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:" - "GEORGE V, KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA". The central part contains a hole. Around it is the inscription for one penny: in English "ONE PENNY" on the left, top, and right, and in Arabic "وَاحِد بَنِّي" at the bottom. The coin's rim features decorative raised denticles.
