Reverse In the central part, the emblem of the Republic of Haiti: a palm tree topped with a Phrygian cap (cap of liberty) and adorned with trophies, at the base the motto 'In Unity There Is Strength' (Fr. 'L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE'). Along the edge of the coin are decorative elements in the form of denticles, alongside which are: the numeral 50 and the inscriptions in French 'LIBERTÉ' (LIBERTY), 'ÉGALITÉ' (EQUALITY), 'FRATERNITÉ' (FRATERNITY). At the bottom, a Latin letter 'A' flanked on the left by a cornucopia and on the right by an axe.
Obverse In the center, within a circle of raised dots, a two-line inscription '2 Centimes' in French '2 CENT∙'. Along the upper arc of the coin's edge, from left to right, runs the text 'REPUBLIC OF HAITI 91' in French 'REPUBLIQUE D’HAЇTI AN 91'. Below, flanked by five-pointed stars, is the year of minting '1894'. Along the rim are elements in the form of denticles.
