    Along the upper edge, the Haitian motto 'LIBERTE . EGALITE . FRATERNITE' — translated from French as 'LIBERTY . EQUALITY . FRATERNITY'. Below, the number 5 is highlighted on both sides by raised dots. In the central part is the national coat of arms of Haiti: a palm tree topped with a Phrygian cap (cap of liberty) shelters six flags of the Republic with its leaves, three on each side, and two cannons. In front of them are trophies: a drum, a bugle, rifles, ship anchors, cannonballs. The motto on the ribbon 'L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE' means 'In unity there is strength'.
