Along the toothed rim of the coin, in an arc, are inscriptions in English: at the top the colony's name - 'JAMAICA', at the bottom - 'HALF PENNY'. A flower is placed on each side of the coat of arms.
Obverse In the central part, within a circle of dots, is the left-facing profile of Queen Victoria of Great Britain wearing a crown. Along the rim: at the top the English text 'VICTORIA QUEEN', at the bottom the mint year '1894', flanked on both sides by a flower. The coin's edge features decorative raised teeth.
