    In the central upper part, the number '1/4', flanked on both sides by a quatrefoil. Below, a semicircular inscription in German 'KREUZER∙' (Kreuzer). In the lower part, the year of minting '1816∙', below it crossed laurel branch (left) and palm branch (right). At the bottom near the rim, the Latin letter 'A' - the mint mark of Vienna. Decorative raised denticles along the edge of the coin.

    In the center, a heraldic shield depicting a double-headed eagle with spread wings, heads crowned, in its right talon a sword and scepter, in its left an orb, on its chest the familial heraldic shield of Habsburg-Lorraine. Above the shield, the Crown of Saint Stephen. Along the upper arc of the coin's edge, text in German 'K∙K∙OESTERREICHISCHE SCHEIDEMÜNZE∙' (Imperial Royal Austrian Subsidiary Coin). Denticles along the edge of the coin.
