In the central part is an oil palm - the national symbol of Congo - and an inscription in French, divided by the palm: «50 Ces» - 50 centimes, below it the year of minting: «1927». Along the arc of the lower edge is the country name in French: «CONGO BELGE» - Belgian Congo. The coin's edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
Obverse
In the central part of the coin is the left-facing profile of King of the Belgians Albert I. Below it is the artist's name: «Jul Lagae» - Jules Lagae. Starting from the left side, the text runs along the arc of the coin's edge: «ALBERT ROI DES BELGES», which translates from French as: «Albert King of the Belgians». Along the rim is a toothed relief pattern.
