    In the central part is a left-facing profile portrait of Antonio José Francisco de Sucre y Alcalá – the Grand Marshal of Peru. Below is the inscription in Spanish 'UN SUCRE' (1 sucre). Along the arc of the coin's edge with decorative denticles are laurel branches.

    In the center is the coat of arms of Ecuador: an oval shield depicting the Chimborazo volcano and the Guayas River; above the shield, a condor with outstretched wings; on the sides are four flags of Ecuador. To the left, top, and right along the circumference near the rim with denticle-like elements is the country name 'Republic of Ecuador' in Spanish - 'REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR', below - the year of minting '1979'. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
