Obverse
At the top, between two raised horizontal lines, the country name Aruba in Dutch: 'ARUBA'. At the bottom, above a horizontal line, the mint year '2008' on the left and the national coat of arms on the right: a lion lies on a heraldic shield framed below by two olive branches. The shield is divided into four quarters by a prominent cross. The upper left quarter features an aloe plant; the upper right quarter features the Hooiberg hill; the lower left quarter features a handshake; the lower right quarter features a ship's steering wheel.
