Inscriptions in Nepali along the rim, top: "जानकी मन्दिर" - "JANAKI TEMPLE", bottom: "नेपाल २ रुपैयाँ" - "NEPAL 2 RUPEES". The central part features the Janaki Mandir building. Decorative raised dots are placed along the edge.
Obverse
The central part depicts a trident, surrounded by inscriptions in Nepali within a square. The bottom shows the minting year in the Samvat calendar: "२०६०" - "2060" or 2003 Gregorian. Around the square are religious emblems, left to right: a crescent moon, sun, conch shell, staff, lotus flower, and wheel. Decorative raised dots are placed along the edge.
