    In the central part, a large numeral 2 on the left, with the English inscription 'EURO' to its right, translating to '2 Euro'. Below the letter 'O' is the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx 'LL'. The inscription is placed over the outlines of a map of Europe. Six vertical parallel lines extend upwards and downwards from it, with 12 stars at their ends.

    Along the rim in the outer circle are 12 five-pointed stars symbolizing the Eurozone countries. In the inner circle on the right are the names of the artist Gabriela Titotto – 'G. TITOTTO' and the personal mark of the engraver Claudia Momoni – 'C.M. Inc'. At the top, the issuing country in Italian: 'CITTA' DEL VATICANO' – 'Vatican City'. At the bottom, the letter 'R' – the mintmark of the Italian Mint. The central part features an olive branch in front of the Brandenburg Gate, a broken barbed wire, and dismantled brickwork with the dates 1989 and 2014 and the Italian inscription 'XXV ANNIVERSARIO DEL CROLLO DEL MURO DI BERLINO', which translates to '25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall'.
