On the fallen snow, stylized as relief dots, three tracks of a predator - an arctic fox - are depicted one after another. To the right near the rim is the Latin letter 'P' - the mark of the artist Reijo Paavilainen.
Obverse
Depicts three snowflakes. Above is the numeral '5', along its right side vertically the inscription 'EURO', to the right near the rim horizontally the mint year '2012'. Along the bottom rim is the country name 'Finland' in two languages: Finnish 'SUOMI' and Swedish 'FINLAND'. In the core of the left snowflake is the mintmark of the Finnish Mint – a heraldic lion within a circle.
