    In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the English text 'EAST AFRICA & UGANDA PROTECTORATES'. Below is the year of issue '1911', flanked on both sides by raised dots. In the central part above the hole is the numeral 10, flanked by crossed tusks.
  • Obverse
    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. To the left and right along the rim are English inscriptions: 'GEORGIVS V' and 'REX ET IND: IMP:', separated at the top by a British crown, translating to 'George V King and Emperor of India'. In the central part below the round hole is the inscription 'TEN CENTS'. Below that is the mint mark of the Birmingham Mint 'H'.
