The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is placed above and between the eagle's heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon are the letters 'SP', under the left 'B', denoting the St. Petersburg Mint. Around the eagle, facing inward, the legend reads: МОНЕТА НОВАЯ ЦЕНА РУБЛЬ 1725 (NEW COIN VALUE ROUBLE 1725).
  • Obverse
The central part features a left-facing profile portrait of Empress Catherine I Alexeevna. Around the portrait, the legend reads: СПБ ЕКАТЕРIНА IМПЕРАТРIЦА IСАМОДЕРЖИЦА ВСЕРОСIСКАЯ (SPB CATHERINE I EMPRESS AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA).
