    In the central part, a pickaxe on a shield, with a crown above. Along the edge are inscriptions in English: left and right - "SOUTHERN RHODESIA", below - "HALF CROWN", above - the year of minting: "1952". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.

    In the central part, the left-facing profile of King George VI of Great Britain. Below the truncation of the neck are the letters "PM", denoting the initials of the artist, Percy Metcalfe. Left and right along the rim is the text in English: "KING GEORGE THE SIXTH". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
