Around the edge, the inscription in French: 'BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST' - Central Bank of the West African States, separated by a point and the privy marks of the Paris Mint: a wing and a cornucopia.

In the central part, within a wreath of corn, a gazelle head. Below it, the year of issue: 1967. To its left, the letters 'G.B.L. BAZOR' - the mark of the Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint, Lucien Georges Bazor. Around the edge, a raised ornamental border featuring clusters of grapes and peanut pods.
