    In the central part, a large numeral 1 with the inscription 'Franc' (Franc) and the year of issue '1992' in two lines to its right. Below the numeral 1 is a cornucopia (the mint mark of the Paris Mint), and below the year is a dolphin (the privy mark of the Chief Engraver Emile Rousseau). Around the circumference along the rim, the text reads from left to right: 'UNION MONETAIRE OUEST-AFRICAINE' (West African Monetary Union), framed on both sides by a dot, and below it the artist's surname Jean-Pierre Réthoré 'J.P. Réthoré'. All inscriptions are in French.
