    In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the French text "BANQUE CENTRALE", below - "ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST", which translates as "Central Bank of the West African States". The inscriptions are separated by rosettes. In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a goldweight (a weight in the form of a human, animal, or bird figure, used by the Ashanti people for weighing gold dust), which splits the number 10 into two parts. Below is the stamped text "FRANCS".

    In the central part, an image of a woman drawing water from an artesian well, as well as a woman and child with jugs waiting their turn. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the year of minting "2000", framed by rosettes.
