    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription "BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1913∙", broken into six segments by the star's rays, follows the arc of the coin's edge. The rim is decorated with decorative denticles.

    Central hole. Around it, the inscription "ONE TENTH OF A PENNY" in English above and "عُشِر الپَنّي" in Arabic below. Along the rim, the inscription "GEORGIVS V" on the left and "REX ET IND: IMP:" on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. The British Imperial Crown is above. The mint mark "H" (for Heaton Mint, Birmingham) is below the hole. The edge is decorated with raised denticles.
