    In the central part, the state symbol of the Belgian Congo — a stylized image of a five-pointed star. To the left of the top ray, along the border of dots, the number 20; to the right, the inscription 'C.', meaning 'twenty centimes'. On each side of the star are three rosettes in the form of five-pointed stars, arranged vertically. Below the lower rays, the year of minting '1909'.

    Along the dotted border, on the left, the inscription in Dutch 'BELGISCH - CONGO'; on the right, in French '★★CONGO BELGE', meaning Belgian Congo. The inscriptions are separated at the top and bottom by two rosettes in the form of a dot. In the central part, within a dotted circle evenly spaced around the hole, are 5 stylized monograms of the monarch King Leopold II.
