    In the central part, within an oval, are two hands, one holding a hammer, the other a chisel. Above the oval, the radiant cap of the Goddess of Liberty. Below the oval, a semicircular Latin inscription: 'OMNIA VINCIT LABOR', translating to 'Labor conquers all'. Beneath the inscription is a laurel wreath. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the coat of arms of Mexico. Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, is the Spanish text: 'Est. Lib. Fed. de Guanajuato' (full name: Estado Libre Federado de Guanajuato), which translates to 'Free Federated State of Guanajuato' and the mint year 1827. In the lower part along the edge, separated by two five-petaled flowers, is the Spanish inscription: 'OCTAVO' - 1/8 (real). The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.
