In the left part, following the curve of the coin's edge, are Latin inscriptions ':GEORGIVS V DEI GRA:', 'REX ET IND: IMP:', translated as 'George V by the Grace of God, King and Emperor of India'. In the central part is a left-facing profile portrait of the King.
