Reverse
The central part features the Tabqa Dam on the Euphrates River. Above is the country name in Arabic: "الجمهورية العربية السورية" - "SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC". Below is an inscription in Arabic: "زيادة انتاج الغذاء في العالم" - "PRODUCE MORE FOOD". On the left arc of the coin is a wheat ear, on the right a cogwheel. The edges of the rim feature a decorative raised pattern of rectangles.

Below is the year of minting in the Hijri calendar: "١٣٩٦" - "1396" and the Gregorian calendar: "١٩٧٦" - "1976". The edges of the rim feature a decorative raised pattern of rectangles.
