Reverse In the central part, two dromedary camels are depicted (facing right): the camel in the background is standing, the one in the foreground is lying down, with a saddle on its hump. Above the image is the inscription '50F' (50 francs). Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, is the country's motto: 'UNITE, EGALITE, PAIX' (Unity, Equality, Peace). All inscriptions are in French. Raised dots separate the words.
Obverse In the central part is the state coat of arms of the Republic of Djibouti (a laurel wreath, inside which a shield and a spear topped with a five-pointed star are depicted; on either side are two hands, each holding a traditional dagger). Around the circumference along the rim is the country's name in French - 'REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI' (Republic of Djibouti), below the year of minting - '2010', flanked on the left by a cornucopia (the mint mark of the Paris Mint) and on the right by a French horn with waves (the engraver's mark of Hubert Larivière).
