All inscriptions are in French. Raised dots separate the words.

In the central part is the state coat of arms of the Republic of Djibouti (a laurel wreath, inside which a shield and a spear topped with a five-pointed star are depicted; on either side are two hands, each holding a traditional dagger). Around the circumference along the rim is the country's name in French - 'REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI' (Republic of Djibouti), below the year of minting - '2010', flanked on the left by a cornucopia (the mint mark of the Paris Mint) and on the right by a French horn with waves (the engraver's mark of Hubert Larivière).
