    In the central part is the coat of arms of the Brazilian Empire, pattern 1822-1831 - a shield surmounted by a crown. Along the left edge of the coin is a coffee branch, on the right a tobacco branch, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. Above, below, and to the right along the rim is a Latin inscription: "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" - "IN THIS SIGN YOU SHALL CONQUER". The rim edges are decorated with raised denticles.

    In the central part is a wreath of coffee leaves and berries. Inside is the number: "75". Along the rim's edge is a Portuguese text: "PETRUS.I.D.G.CONST.IMPET.PERP.BRAS.DEF" - "PEDRO I BY THE GRACE OF GOD CONSTITUTIONAL EMPEROR AND PERPETUAL DEFENDER OF BRAZIL", below: "1826" - the year of mintage. The rim edges are decorated with raised denticles.
