In the upper part of the coin is the crown of the Russian Empire. In the central part, the denomination is struck—the number 20. Below the denomination is the name of the monetary unit "KOPѢЕКЪ". Below that is a line, under which is the abbreviation "S.P.B." (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part of the coin along the edge is a laurel branch, and in the right part an oak branch. At the base, the branches are intertwined with a ribbon. Raised denticles are struck along the edge of the coin.
  • Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is on the right). The heraldic shield, above the eagle's heads, is crowned with the imperial crown. The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, intertwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Below the ribbon are letters: on the left "N", on the right "G". The initials of Mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. Below the initials is the year of mintage "1827 GODA.". The rim is decorated with short denticles.
