  • Reverse
In the upper part of the reverse is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, on two lines, are the denomination and monetary unit: 20 KOPĒEKЪ. Below that is a decorative divider consisting of two pointed lines with a circled dot between them. Under the divider, on two lines, are the year of minting "1843" and the abbreviation "S.P.B." (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part of the coin, along the edge, is a laurel branch, and in the right part, an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon, the knot of which forms an elegant bow. The coin's rim is decorated with protruding denticles.
  • Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, and a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurican, and Finnish. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter "A", under the left — the letter "Ch". The initials of Mintmaster Alexei Chadov. The rim is decorated with denticles.
