    Along the rim are inscriptions in French: at the top, "BANQUE CENTRALE" (Central Bank), and at the bottom, "ÉTATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST" (States of West Africa). The central part of the reverse features a relief image of a sawfish. To its left is the digit "1", to its right "0", and below it "FRANCS", which translates from French as "10 FRANCS".
