Obverse
In the central part, a gold-dust weight (Taku-Ashanti). Below it is the letter "RJ" - the mark of the Paris Mint artist Raymond Joly. Around the edge of the coin is the French inscription: "BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST" - Central Bank of West African States.
