Below it is the inscription in French: 'FRANCS' and the mintmarks of the Paris Mint: a wing and a cornucopia. Around the edge is the French inscription: 'BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQVE DE L'OUEST' - Central Bank of the West African States, separated by a dot.
