    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of an opened pomegranate on a branch. To the left of the pomegranate is the number ½, to the right is 'R' - ½ real. Along the upper edge of the coin is an inscription in Spanish: 'CUNDINAMARCA. I. F.'. 'Cundinamarca' is the name of one of the provinces (states) of Colombia. 'I.F.' can be translated as 'Independent (independiente) Federation (federación)'. Below is the mint mark 'BA'. The border is decorated with decorative elements in the form of dentils.

    In the central part is depicted the head of an Indian facing left, wearing a national headdress. Around the border is an inscription in Spanish: 'REPUBLICA DE COLUMBIA', which translates to 'Republic of Colombia'. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the date 1821, separated from the inscription by dots. The border is decorated with decorative elements in the form of dentils.
