    In the central part, within a circle, the numeral 5. Around it are the coats of arms of the nine Federal States of Austria: Vienna, Burgenland, Upper Austria, Vorarlberg, Carinthia, Styria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol. The coats of arms are positioned with their base towards the center, forming a sun-like pattern. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in German: on the left, top, and right the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), at the bottom the inscription 'EURO' (Euro).

    In the central part, one of the disciplines of the Winter Olympic Games is depicted – ski jumping. Against a background of a ski jump and fir trees, an athlete is shown facing left, having gained speed and in a state of flight.
