In the central part, the state symbol of the Belgian Congo — a stylized image of a five-pointed star. To the left of the emblem is the numeral 1, to the right the inscription 'C.', which together mean 'one centime'. On the sides of the star are images of three five-pointed stars arranged vertically. Below is the year of issue '1919'.
Obverse
Along the dotted border, on the left the inscription in Dutch 'BELGISCH - CONGO', on the right in French '★★CONGO BELGE', meaning the name of the colony 'Belgian Congo'. The inscriptions are separated at the top and bottom by two recessed dots. In the central part, within a dotted circle, five monograms of King Albert I are evenly placed around the hole.
