    In the central part, there is a tanoa (kava bowl). Above it is the numeral "1", below it is the inscription in English: "CENT". The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.

    In the central part, a right-facing profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Below the truncation of the neck are the incused letters "RDM", denoting the initials of the designer, Raphael David Maklouf. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left, the Queen's name "ELIZABETH II"; on the right, the country name Fiji and the year of minting "FIJI 2001".
