Obverse In the central part, the right-facing profile of Marshal Ramon Castilla. In the truncation of the neck, the year of mintage: 1954. To the left and right along the rim are inscriptions in Spanish: 'REPUBLICA' and 'PERUANA' respectively, denoting the country's name: Peruvian Republic. In the lower part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is an inscription in Spanish: 'LIBERTADOR MARISCAL CASTILLA' - Liberator Marshal Castilla. Along the rim is a denticulated relief.
