  • Reverse
    The central part depicts the reverses of nine different Isle of Man coins, with a flower above their intersection. In the very center is a coin featuring the heraldic symbol - the triskelion. The rim features a chain-like pattern. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: left, top, and right 'BICENTENARY OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE', at the bottom the inscription 'ONE CROWN', flanked on both sides by a dot.
  • Obverse
    The center features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. Below the portrait truncation are the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: left the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN', right the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', at the bottom the year of issue '1979'. The circumference along the rim features decorative raised denticles.
