Along the edge of the coin from left to right runs a text in Latin: "PAVLVS VI P.M. A. XI MCMLXXIII", which translates to "PAUL VI, 11TH YEAR OF PONTIFICATE, YEAR OF ISSUE 1973". In the central part, a coat of arms with a crown is depicted.
