Against a backdrop of starry sky and planet Earth, the mountainous surface of Mars and a planetary rover are depicted. To the left near the rim is the designer's mark of Thomas Pesendorfer - 'TP'. Along the lower edge is the German inscription 'MARS-ROBOTER' (Mars Rover).
Obverse
In the center, surrounded by gears and binary code chains, is an image of a robot in the form of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. To its left is the horizontal inscription '25 EURO'. Along the rim: left and top, the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), the mint year '2011', bottom – 'ROBOTIK' (Robotics). All inscriptions are in German.
